QuickSMS enable users and companies to instantly send SMS to groups or individuals via a regular mobile phone. Equip with a PC and a mobile phone, the user can start sending SMS. To be able to send out SMS using QuickSMS, install the mobile phone driver provided by the mobile phone company. To ascertain if the driver is installed, go to CONTROL PANEL->PHONE AND MODEM OPTIONS and click on the MODEM tab. Your mobile phone brand and connection should be as shown below:

If the driver is already installed, you should be able to see your mobile phone brand name as shown above. When the mobile phone is connected to the PC, the “Attached To” column should contain value such as COM4 or COM5. When it is not connected, this column contains the value “Not present”.
When your mobile phone is connected to the PC, place the phone in “Phone Mode” (do NOT chose the “File Tranfer” or “Print Picture” mode (for Sony Ericsson phones). Check QuickSMS main screen and ensure it had successfully detect the connected mobile phone. When the mobile phone is detected, a description of the serial port and the mobile phone brand will be display at the bottom of the screen.
You can start sending SMS by using the ad-hoc SMS sending feature available as shown below:

This is the first screen when QuickSMS start. The screen displays the contacts and the SMS history for each of the contacts. From this screen, you can import contacts from text file, manually add, modify or delete contacts, send bulk SMS and etc.

QuickSMS supports sending out SMS in bulk or sending out SMS individually on an ad-hoc basis. With bulk SMS the contacts to send SMS must exist in the contacts table, while with ad-hoc SMS sending, you can send SMS without requiring the contact information to be in the contact table. The methods to perform each of these SMS operations are described below:

To send bulk SMS, first select the target contacts to send to from the main screen. You can use multi-select the rows in the table as describe in QuickSMS Main Screen chapter. After selecting the target contacts to send to, click on the “Sens SMS” button at the main screen. The following screen will then appear:


The screen above is the same screen while sending ad-hoc SMS, the only difference when sending bulk SMS is the “Mobile No” field will be disable. If more then one contact had been selected, the “Mobile No” field value will contain trailing dots as shown at L1 above.
QuickSMS contacts can be imported from external source via a text file. The fields in the text file should contain the “Name” and the “Mobile No” of the contacts. The text file fields can be delimited by Tab, Space, Comma, Semicolon, Hash or any other character. To import a file, select “MPORT->TEXT FILE. After selecting the text file QuickSMS will determine the field delimiter from the text file and split the columns. The screen as below will then appear for the user to confirm the text file format:

If you chose to purchase the complete license we will provide you with the registration code and remove all restrictions of the unregistered version.

I get error when sending
SMS?
On a normal situation QuickSMS should be able to send out SMS. Following listed are the few possible reasons when SMS cannot be send:
1. Your service provider had suspended your mobile line.
2. There’s not enough credit to send out the SMS, you will get error such as CMS ERROR: 50
3. The mobile number entered is in the wrong format, see Sending individual ad-hoc SMS section for the correct format.
4. The phone battery had just use up.
5. There’s problem with the driver, if you’re encountering this problem, shut down and restart all related applications.
What hardware is
required?
A GSM mobile phone or modem that can be connected to a PC, the supported phones are listed at Supported Mobile Phones chapter.
What is the difference
between registered and unregistered version of QuickSMS?
Unregistered version restrict the number of bulk SMS you can send in one go, nevertheless you still can use many other features in QuickSMS
Do I need an internet
connection to use the application?
No
What other charges do
I need to incur?
To use QuickSMS, you just need to install the software, get one of the supported GSM phone and pay to your mobile operator for the SMS you send.
What’s the benefit of
registering?
When you register, we will provide support and customize the application to your needs if the effort is not that much to do it.
Can I use QuickSMS while transfering file
or performing synchronization?
We have tested this and the answer is Yes, but if you’re having problem, try to only use QuickSMS exclusively.
